A Sewing Project is held on Wednesday afternoons, facilitated by Susan, a lady from Australia. Susan works with the sisters to sew different types of bags in order to reduce the using of plastic bags.

The sisters are currently sewing  bags  to send to St Vincent De Paul, Maitland, NSW and to the Dominican Sisters in New Zealand.

Thanks are  owed to the Womens Group who also donated bags. Some have gone to Auki to be sold and the rest will be sold  in Honiara. Most of the sisters, priests and a few local women buy the bags for their shopping.

Sincere thanks to Susan for her commitment and loving support in this sewing project. Her assistance is very much appreciated.

The money raised will be used for the ongoing making of bags, the care of  the environment and to support the chook project.
