Farewell to Vietnamese Sisters

22 November 2018 | General Interest

For many years we have had a warm association with the Vietnamese Dominican Sisters of the Immaculate Conception here in Melbourne, where until fairly recently they have been stationed in Richmond. This was the community from Thu Duc, where Marg OP went regularly to teach the Sisters English. One of our sisters, Marie Dominique originally belonged to this group.

The two remaining Sisters, Kim and Thu, have been recalled home to Vietnam, (Thuy went some time ago). so we farewelled them recently here at Holyrood Street. They insisted that they provide the meal, and came armed with the best of Vietnamese dishes. Thu has now departed, and Kim will go early in the New Year.

Thu formally thanked us for our friendship and support, and our “care and love". We’ll miss them.
