The sisters in the Solomons have identified the need to reduce the use of plastic bags which impact landfill. 

As a Dominican justice and peace initiative, a  scheme has been developed to make their own calico bags for  marketing.  

The initiative is facilitated by a generous volunteer who works to empower women in the Solomons. At this stage the scheme is mainly operating  in Honaira.
