Climate Action

14 June 2019 | General Interest

A group of young advocates from Kiribas and Tuvalu are staying with the Dominican sisters. They have already attended the Al Gore Advocacy training sessions in Brisbane (12-14 June) and now they are talking to Australian politicians (Federal and State) about the plight of their two countries.

We join with Litia & Iunipa (Tuvalu) and Anna & Terakunene (Kiribas) as they strive to plan for adaptation and mitigation measures to prevent their villages from drowning. As Antonio Guterres (UN Secretary General) noted whilst in Fiji just recently - 'these islands are already inundated NOW'. It is time for action!

This visit is being sponsored by the inter-Congregational Pacific Climate Watch group and ERC Flemington NSW.
